Keeping a Holy Lent
DAILY MASS SCHEDULE FOR LENT
7:00am, 8:00am, 12:10pm
FASTING AND ABSTINENCE REGULATIONS FOR LENT
Fasting is to be observed by all 18 years of age through age 59. On a fast day one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices, are allowed.
Abstinence is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted.
Fasting, almsgiving and prayer are the three disciplines of Lent. The faithful and catechumens should undertake these practices seriously in a spirit of penance and of preparation for baptism or of renewal of baptism at Easter.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Friday evenings at 7:00pm in the Church
Come join our parish family for the traditional devotion of the Stations of the Cross. Each Friday evening during Lent we will have a communal celebration to pray with each other and with Our Lord Jesus Christ during his final journey to the Cross.
The week of March 26th will be led by the Lay Carmelite Community. The prayers will take about 30 minutes each week.
The themes for the Stations of the Cross for 2010 will be:
March 26th: Stations with St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, O.C.D.
(Edith Stein)
This is a traditional Lenten devotion for the whole family.
ALL ARE WELCOME EACH WEEK!
